Stop using plastic straws!

This term for PBL( Project Based Learning) we have looking at the big Question:
How can we use our voice to affect change in order to protect our environment?
In writing we have been doing persuasive writing on any topic but this week we have to do it on something to do with our PBL. I choose to do it on trying to stop people using plastic straws.
Here is my writing.

Pam Shoemaker said “When you put the whole picture together recycling is the right thing to do” I believe that if we stopped using plastic we could save the world. Plastic straws is an easy thing we can get rid of. When you go to the supermarket and you see plastic straws for $1.99 and Stainless steel straws for $10.99 most of you would go for the plastic straws because they are cheaper. But if you put some more thought into it I am sure most of you would pick the Stainless steel ones. If you reuse and wash your stainless straw - it will last for years and years - lots longer than a packet of plastic ones will last!

Firstly Stainless steel straws are so much better than plastic straws because they are resuble, you are saving the earth and all the animals are not dying because of us. If you are not persuaded enough then take some time to think about all the the Animals nature and things that we need to look after and be more grateful for. I am sure most of you have seen pictures of Sea Animals in the ocean with plastic around them. It just makes me sad to know that Animals are suffering because of our laziness to not do anything to help. So next time when you go to buy straws think about what I have said.

Secondly Plastic straws are ruining our environment so we need to make a change as easy as not buying plastic straws. Every time you buy plastic straws use them and then though them away you are probably making an Animal suffer. Plastic is made up of polypropylene plastic which Animals will more than likely die from eating it. Like we can die from eating some poisonous things. I have stopped using plastic straws because hearing this makes me so sad and I hope that you will hear this and stop too.

Most Importantly I hope someday I can make a change by going to help the Animals and caring for them. It is an easy thing that Humans can do but a hard thing for Animals. Here are some easy ways you can make a change everyday.
Buy Stainless steel straws
Buy reusable plastic bags
Put your rubbish in a bin ( Don’t be lazy and just leave it there )
So try these things you might not realise but you could make a big difference everyday by doing these small things

In conclusion I hope I have made you think more about what you can do next time you are at the Supermarket, Park, Home or really anywhere. Just think of what Mother Nature has given to us and what we are doing back.

Thank you for reading my writing
What would you do to help the environment?

Ready set go and they off with the gingerbread man in the lead. Run run as fast as you can you can't catch me I am the Gingerbread man was the Chant for the gingerbread man. Oma Hare Oma Hare was the chant for the Hare. Everybody was yelling there chants and The Hare had a unexpected win. The the Tortoise came along a wanted to race the Hare. So they had a race the Gingerbread man tried to make the hare loose. Go the race began and the Hare was in front. But then the Hare got tired and sat down then fell asleep. So the tortoise won. But I am sure the Hare was happy for the Tortoise inside!
